SMS Outbound Country Code Restrictions

Overview

By default, Quiq will allow outbound messages to US country code numbers (+1) for all US tenants, and for tenants based in the EU, this whitelist will include the US plus all European Country Codes. This prevents outbound notifications from being sent to unauthorized country codes, and incurring unwanted charges.

Note, this is new functionality as of Fall 2023, if your SMS implementation predates that, you can reach out to your account manager for help configuring this functionality.

This feature impacts outbound notifications only, meaning if a customer messages in with a phone number that is not part of the whitelist, Quiq will still be able to respond, whether via an agent, a bot, or a system message.
